Dr. Alexander Mirtchev is an economist, academic and author with an expertise on a wide range of issues including alternative energy, global economic security and international policy challenges.
Dr. Alexander Mirtchev is a Distinguished Visiting Professor at George Mason University’s Schar School of Policy and Government. Alexander Mirtchev has previously served on the advisory board at Washington & Jefferson College’s Center for Energy Policy and Management, as a Senior Fellow of the Russian and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as Doctor Emeritus of the University of Foreign Trade and Fiance, Ukraine, and as a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences. Dr. Alexander Mirtchev currently serves as the Vice Chair for the Atlantic Counsel, where he also is a member of the board of directors and participates on the Executive and Strategy Committees. Alexander Mirtchev is a founding member of the Kissinger Institute on China and the U.S. at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, where he severed as a Senior Fellow. Alexander also participated in the international defense and economic security policy realm as Vice-President of the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security (RUSI), a leading UK policy think tank. Dr. Mirtchev also served as the Executive Chairman of RUSI International, an affiliated think tank.
