Alexander Mirtchev is a Senior Scholar and American Founding Council Member of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and a Member of the Wilson National Cabinet.
Dr. Mirtchev has a distinguished academic career and is currently Vice-president of the Royal United Services Institute for Defence and Security Studies (RUSI), London, est. 1831 and Executive Chairman of its international arm RUSI International. He is also Board Director and Member of the Executive Committee of the Atlantic Council of the United States. He has served, among others, as Senior Fellow of the Russian and Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, is a Doctor Emeritus of the University of Foreign Trade and Finance, Ukraine and is a member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.
Alexander Mirtchev is the author of a number of monographs and policy articles, has served as editor and publisher of academic and professional journals, and has appeared as analyst on major international media such as Bloomberg, BBC, CNBC and others. He is a Forbes contributor.
Dr. Mirtchev obtained an LL.M. degree in International and Comparative Law at the National Law Center of the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and has a Ph.D. from St. Kliment Ohridski University. He studied economics and finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science, Boston University, and Harvard Business School.
Alexander Mirtchev is also the president of Krull Corp., USA, a global strategic solutions provider, with a focus on new economic trends, economic security and emerging policy challenges. He serves and has served as chairman and director of multi-billion dollar international industrial enterprises, chairman of a joint venture with a high-end risk-mitigation services NASDAQ-listed corporation, independent director of a sovereign wealth fund, senior governmental macroeconomic and WTO-accession advisor, and as director with Law Offices of Stewart & Stewart, Washington, D.C. He has had an active public office career, and has participated in laying the foundation for market democracy, accession to NATO and the EU of several transitional economies.
Mirtchev enjoys classical philosophy, opera, painting, and is a Tanagra figurines collector.
