About Dr. Alexander Mirtchev

Dr. Mirtchev is a Professorial fellow and Distinguished Senior Fellow at the School of Policy, Government and International Affairs at George Mason University, US.

Dr. Alexander Mirtchev serves as Vice Chair of the the Atlantic Council of the United States. He is also a member of Atlantic council board, member of the Executive and Strategy Committees and the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security Advisory Board.

Mirtchev participated in the founding of the Council to the Kissinger Institute on China and the U.S. at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. He was also a Senior Fellow and a member of the Wilson National Cabinet.

He served as a Vice-President of the Royal United Services Institute for Defense and Security, RUSI, the most venerable UK global security think tank. Alexander Mirtchev also served as Executive Chairman of RUSI International.

Mirtchev obtained an LL.M. degree in International and Comparative Law at George Washington University, Washington, D.C., and has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from St. Kliment Ohridski University, where he was an Associate professor. Alexander studied economics and finance at the London School of Economics, Harvard Business School and Boston University.

Alexander Mirtchev also received an Honorary Doctorate of Political Science from the Russian Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Doctorate from the Ukrainian Academy of Foreign Trade

Dr. Mirtchev is the author of several monographs and policy articles, has served as editor and publisher of academic and professional journals, and served as a member of the Fox Business “Wall Street Week” Advisory Board.
